So! You're getting Married... Congratulations! Once you have set the date and selected your idyllic venue(s) it's time to give Southern Events a call! We do not take the entire weight off your shoulders, we simply ensure your every requirement is met, and do all the hard work. You can sit back and enjoy! So what next?

Before calling, ensure you have a rough idea of what you want. There is nothing worse than being pressured into something. Choose your wedding venue, church or similar, then if applicable your afternoon/evening reception venue. In a traditional sense the wedding will start in a church, with the all-day invited guests attending, then the ceremony takes place. We can arrange flowers, cars, limo's, horse driven carriages, you name it you can have it! Next the wedding party moves to your chosen idyllic venue for the reception. This is where we come in! We supply the tables, the table decor, the bar, even the marquee with your chosen coloured flooring type if desired. Drinks reception, followed by 2 or 3 course Afternoon Lunch, followed by champagne toasts and speeches! There is then usually a small break while the room is turned around for the evening of fun! Your evening guests will arrive to join your all-day guests and either a live band, DJ or other entertainer will start the evening's events off. Buffet usually served at around 9pm.
So to recap, this is what your day will pan out like:
12noon - Wedding Guests will start arriving at church while the Groom attends. The Bride will be picked up at her home and brought to the wedding (typically 5 mins. late) by limo, horse & cart or car.
1pm - Wedding Ceremony. Usually lasts around 30-45mins depending on layout and desired format.
2pm - Arrive at Reception greeted by our bar staff with your drinks reception & canapés. Bride and groom will traditionally personally welcome guests, individually on entry. During the summer we recommend Pimms on the lawns, champagne in winter and a selection of soft alternatives.
3pm - Sit Down to formal afternoon lunch, 2 or 3 courses, either buffet style or table service.
5pm - Toasts & Speeches, which can be followed by the cutting of the cake (but is often left till the evening)
7pm - Evening Guests Arrive, Entertainment in place which will continue through to midnight or your desired end time. Licensed bar will be open throughout for alcoholic refreshments.
